As well as writing and publishing my own poetry, I also act as a poetry tutor and mentor.
I have experience working with writers of primary school age, secondary school age, university students, and adults, with varied experience and ability levels.
I love to share my interest in poetry, writing, and reading through the delivery of inspiring and engaging workshops. I am also passionate about promoting a creative lifestyle that anyone can embrace, whether they are seeking publication or just a pastime!

Pen to Paper
Pen to Paper was originally commissioned by the Anchor Gallery in Harborne, in 2018. The course was comprised of three 2-hour sessions, and culminated in the printing of a collective pamphlet.
Follow its initial success, Pen to Paper returned in 2018/19, this time at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, Monthly, 5-hour sessions included a mixture of free-writing prompts, group discussions, mini-lessons, extended writing activities, museum exploration, and a chance to share work and receive feedback. The workshops are free, but ask for a ‘pay-as-you-feel’ donation to help with resource and refreshment costs.
Pen to Paper is currently on pause, due to COVID-19.
If you are interested in joining Pen to Paper in the future, and would like updates on the changing situation, please get in touch via the contact page on this site.
I also offer poetry mentoring partnerships between myself as mentor, and a dedicated, aspiring poet as mentee.
Through a mixture of face-to-face meetings and workshop days, email and video chat, and collaborative online editing, I provide general guidance and tailored constructive criticism, with a focus to nurture the poet’s career as well as assist with the editing of specific poems or manuscripts.
If you would like to begin a mentoring partnership, please get in contact via the form on the contact page. Please provide a cover letter and 2-3 examples of your poetry.
Please note that while I am open to providing feedback and edits on work of other disciplines, I am primarily a writer and mentor of poetry.
